Outcomes were based on grade of operating surgeon; trainee, fellow versus consultant. The posterior capsule rupture risk was calculated using EMR software, OpenEyes. Validity of the calculator was considered based on additional perceived risk factors for posterior capsular rupture. Intra-operative events that offered empirical pointers to recurring (potentially predictable) factors, and subsequent interventions were analysed.
